Shoreline Trolley

Let’s hitch a ride over to The Shore Line Trolley Museum in Branford.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the oldest continuously operated suburban trolley line in the United States, the trolley line was built in 1900 and was an active trolley line until 1947. The line used to run from the New Haven green to the Short Beach neighborhood in Branford. The Shoreline Trolly Museum has one of the most diverse collections of transportation vehicles  in North America. They have nearly 100 trolley cars, subway cars, and other electric railway vehicles.

They don’t just preserve the trolley cars, but the art of the restoration of the trolley cars, making restorations with the same materials, techniques and methods that would have been used a hundred years ago. Check it out, and…All Aboard!
